#BLAIRISMS Brings Social Justice to NOLA PS

The Dottin-Haley Group is proud to announce a new partnership with NOLA Public Schools (NOLA PS). The collaboration is intended to create programming and resources for the district in alignment with the Superintendent’s core values of Equity, Excellence and Joy.

The Dottin-Haley Group has prided itself on thriving at the intersection of social justice and joy. A key example is the #SAVAGECHATSERIES, a digital series that celebrates the contributions of historically marginalized communities in global culture. Through digital media, in-person events and visual storytelling, the team develops content intended to uplift, inspire and help everyone reflect on the joy in their lives and find ways to contribute to improving their communities. The Dottin-Haley Group has also collaborated with the Sierra Club to combat environmental racism and promote climate justice initiatives across the African diaspora.

NOLA PS is committed to providing resources to support the Orleans parish community through the NOLA PS CAREs (Community Access to Resources and Equity) initiative. NOLA-PS CAREs is designed to prioritize mental health, literacy, social justice, workforce development, and trauma informed practices.

Through this collaboration, the Dottin-Haley Group will support the NOLA PS CAREs initiative by creating opportunities for students, educators, and other community stakeholders to leverage digital storytelling, amplify their voices and cross-promote effective solutions to the most pressing challenges facing Orleans Parish.

The team is committed to ensuring that New Orleans is informed about the successes, needs and opportunities facing the schools and students. We are excited to work with the Dottin-Haley Group on the social justice aspect of NOLA-PS CAREs. Our work will aim to amplify student voices through various platforms and initiatives.” said Dr. Avis Williams, Superintendent of NOLA Public Schools. “You can look forward to seeing a lot more of Dr. Williams and the achievements of students and teachers” said Blair Dottin-Haley, CEO of the Dottin-Haley Group. He continued “We are honored to continue the work of my grandmother, Oretha Castle Haley, alongside Dr. Williams and NOLA PS, and believe that social justice is the path toward creating more equity in our education system and more joy in our community.”

About The Dottin-Haley Group: The Dottin-Haley Group, led by Blair and Brandon Dottin-Haley, is a social justice and media consulting and strategizing organization that works to develop opportunities to uplift marginalized communities and create space for the celebration of Black culture.  The team created the #BLAIRISMS, an apparel and lifestyle brand that spreads messages of inspiration, laughter and reflection, which has had a piece acquired by the Smithsonian’s NMAAHC. The pair also created the award-winning #SAVAGECHATSERIES to celebrate the accomplishments of people across the diaspora as well as their contributions to global culture. The Dottin-Haley group was coined “Brand Activists” for the ways they use their work to advocate for underrepresented groups and focus on social justice, equity, and joy.
